In case you would like to transfer a domain name from one company to another, you’ll need a special domain name authorization code, which may be referred to by many names – an EPP authorization code, an Auth code, a domain name password, etc. All these names denote the exact same thing – a code that the domain registrant receives from the current domain registrar and gives to the new one at the time of the order. Without a genuine code, a transfer cannot be initiated and this is one of the safety mechanisms against unsolicited transfers used with all generic and with most country-code extensions. For better security, the code includes numbers and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so in case you want to transfer one of your domain names, you have to provide the new domain registrar with the right code.
EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting
In case you have a domain registered through our company and you’ve got a cloud hosting account with us, obtaining its EPP authorization code is astonishingly easy. You will not have to log in and out of different systems, as you can manage all your domain names through the very same Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is used to administer your web hosting account. You’ll see all existing domain names the moment you sign in and on the right side of the domain names whose extensions require a code in order to be transferred, you will see a mini EPP icon. All it takes to obtain that code is to click on the icon. The code is always emailed to the domain registrant’s email, so in case the one that you shared at first isn’t valid anymore, you can update it with several clicks of the mouse from the very same section.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you register a domain under a semi-dedicated server account with us, you’ll be able to get its EPP transfer authorization code with only one click of the mouse, in case you decide to move it to another registrar. All it takes to achieve that is to log into your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, to navigate to the Registered Domains section and to click on the EPP button, which will be to the right of the domain name. Of course, such a button will be available only if the specific gTLD or ccTLD extension supports transfers with an EPP transfer code. Within sixty seconds, an email that contains the code will be sent to the domain registrant’s email account associated with that domain name. You can update the latter via the very same section of the Control Panel – in case the one that’s currently listed in the WHOIS register is not a valid one. As the change will propagate without delay, you can request the EPP code directly after that.
