FTP, which is an acronym for File Transfer Protocol, represents one of the most famous methods for sending web files between a computer system and a web server. Using an FTP client program such as FileZilla, you can establish a connection to your web hosting account and drag & drop files or entire folders in both directions and the software itself will cope with all the rest. There’re several advantages of employing File Transfer Protocol, among them the option to restart an upload/download when there’s a problem with the connection and the option to create different FTP accounts. Thanks to the latter option, you can set up FTP users that can connect only to particular folders in your hosting account, but no other folders, emails or other info, which makes it the best option particularly if you have to provide a web designer with access, for example. You can also use an FTP account with famous website building tools like Dreamweaver or FrontPage and upload the sites that you’ve created straight from them, without any third-party software.
FTP Accounts in Cloud Hosting
You will be able to create as many FTP accounts as you like with each of the Linux cloud hosting that we’re offering, as we have chosen not to limit this service. Thus, you can maintain multiple websites at once or give other people access to different directories. As soon as a certain job has been accomplished and you do not want that person to be able to access your web files any longer, you can update the password associated with the given FTP account or you can simply delete that account with a couple of clicks and quit worrying about anyone accessing it again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with all shared accounts, will allow you to view the full list of the active FTP accounts shown in alphabetical order. It takes just one single click of the mouse to manage different options for any of them – to modify the access path or the password, to download an auto-config file, etc.
FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
When you host your Internet sites in a semi-dedicated server account, you’ll be able to set up a separate FTP account for each of them, since we have not put a restriction on this functionality with any of our packages. You can do this via the FTP section of our easy-to-work-with Hepsia hosting Control Panel where you can also see the full list of all the FTP accounts that you have created, together with the folder that each one of them can access. If necessary, you’ll be able to update the password for a given FTP account or to change its access path with a few mouse clicks. You can also remove an account with no effort if you don’t require it anymore – for example, if you’ve hired a designer who’s done with the Internet site and you do not want them to be able to access your website files anymore. For the sake of convenience, we have created a number of tutorial video clips, which will help you manage your FTP accounts effortlessly if you’ve never used a website hosting plan previously.
FTP Accounts in VPS Servers
The VPS server plans that we’re offering will enable you to set up an unlimited number of FTP accounts to manage the content of your Internet sites. This is valid irrespective of which Virtual Private Server package you get and which hosting Control Panel you choose during the VPS order procedure – DirectAdmin, Hepsia or cPanel. In all cases, you will be granted FTP access to the virtual machine without having to install any software, since an FTP server is an integral part of the standard software stack which is included in the Virtual Private Server plans by default. You can set up one FTP account for every domain or sub-domain that you have registered or even several accounts for one single folder – in case you want different persons to access the website content inside it using their own personal login credentials. With each of the available Control Panels, creating, deleting or modifying an FTP account will require no more than a few clicks through an easy-to-navigate graphical interface.
